Ahmed Kamel

Review by Alphaeus Hanson

The short:

Ahmed Kamel is an Egyptian singer and composer from Cairo, Egypt. He has 3.2 million followers on Instagram and over 2.4 million subscribers on YouTube.

The long:

Born September 10, 1992, Ahmed, known as “Ebn El Laiel “, started his musical career exploring all genres of music. After releasing some of his more popular songs such “Ya Laiel”, “Cancer” and “kan fe tafel.” “, his music career started to take off and his unique voice helped him garner interest from a wide audience. Ahmed’s exceptional use of poetic lyrics and contemporary rhythm in his music packs arenas and music venues from Alexandria to Dubai.

To listen or not to listen:

Definitely! I love his music as it takes a different style than most of the music I have heard from the region. Regardless of whether you are studying Arabic and can understand what he is saying, his music is great. Although I am not an aficionado of some of his romance/love songs, the rhythm, and flow of Ahmed’s music certainly capture my attention and I believe it will capture yours as well! His top songs are “3la 3eny”, “Meen F Doll”, “La3btek” And “Ouly”.
