The short:

Ali Shirazinia (Farsi: علی شیرازی‌نیا‎) better known by his stage name Dubfire, is an Iranian American Techno DJ and producer who was a former member of Deep Dish.

The long:

Dubfire was born in Mashhad, Iran but moved with his family at an early age to the Washington DC area. In the early 90’s he formed house duo “Deep Dish” with fellow Iranian, Sharam and went into being nominated to the Grammys four times and eventually winning the award in 2002. Dubfire and Sharam decided to part ways in order to have freedom of creativity. Ali’s sound and ingenuity are constantly evolving. He has produced albums that delve into minimal, house and techno. Dubfire’s music is best listened to live, as he mentioned “I'd always intended for my music to be performed live, supported by the latest advancements in music, stage design, lighting and sound technology”.

To listen or not to listen:

Definitely listen! Dubfire has become one of the most recognizable names in the techno scene. It’s no surprise he is constantly touring the world, playing major festivals, and collaborating with names such as David Guetta, Dido and Hot Since 82.
