Nemah Hasan, known as Nemahsis, is a Palestinian-Canadian artist from Toronto, Ontario.

The long:

Her music has a distinctively indie, poetic style, and she often sings about identity and belonging, pulling from her experiences as a hijabi Muslim woman and a Palestinian. Nemahsis was dropped from her label in 2023 for being pro-Palestinian. Her most recent single, “Stick of Gum,” discusses this, with Nemahsis calling this song a protest to normalize and humanize Palestinians, but also a love song. Her debut album, Verbathim, received widespread acclaim from critics and artists, including Lorde and Stevie Wonder.
