ABBASID

Abbasids, known in Arabic as Abbasyoun, were the second Arab dynasty to rule over the Muslim World following the Umayyads known in Arabic as Umaweyoun. The Abbasid Caliphate, Al-Khilafa Al-Abbasya was the third Muslim Caliphate. Their origin began with the Prophet Muhammad’s uncle, Al-Abbas Ibn Abd El-Muttaleb. This was known as the golden age of Islamic culture. It was one of the longest and most influential Islamic dynasties which spanned from 750 to 1258 CE. In their era, Baghdad, Iraq's capital, was the focal point of science, but this was before the Mongols depleted and wiped out the Abbasid Empire entirely.
