It is located in the northeastern region of Africa and borders seven different countries. Sudan’s capital, Khartoum is the only place on earth where the White and Blue Nile Rivers converge. Sudan is estimated to have a population of ~44 million people belonging to various tribes. Historically, Sudan has unique African and Arab identities, and is considered an Afro-Arab nation. Due to this unique historical identity, Sudan is a member state which makes up the Arab League.
